Privacy policy

Proshot is built to know as little about you as possible. Last updated 6 November 2026.

What the app collects

• The photos you pick. They are downscaled on your phone, stripped of location and camera metadata, and uploaded over an encrypted connection only to make your headshots. They are held in the server's memory for the length of the job (usually under a minute), never written to disk or long-term storage, and are discarded as soon as your headshots are made.
• An anonymous install ID. A random identifier created on your phone. It is how your credits and your library are kept without an account. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID or device identifiers.
• Purchase records. When you buy credits, Apple sends the app a signed receipt which we verify and store (transaction ID, product and date) so credits are never double-counted and can be restored. We never see your payment details.
• Your finished headshots. Stored encrypted for 30 days so you can come back for them, then deleted automatically.

Photos sent to an AI service

To make your headshots, your photos are sent to Google's Gemini API, an AI image service. Google processes them to generate the images and, under the Gemini API terms for paid use, does not use them to train its models. We do not send your name or any identifier alongside the photos. The app shows you this before your first upload and asks for your consent.

What we don't do

• No accounts, no email, no sign-in.
• No advertising, no analytics SDKs, no tracking across apps or websites.
• No sale or sharing of your data with anyone except the AI service above and Apple for purchases.
• No facial recognition database: your face is never used to identify you, and your photos are not kept.

Your choices

• Delete my data (Settings) removes your headshots, library and install record from our servers immediately and gives you a fresh install ID. Purchase records are kept as required for accounting and to prevent receipt reuse.
• You can revoke photo-library access at any time in iOS Settings; the app only ever reads the photos you pick and writes the headshots you save.

Children

Proshot is rated 4+ but is intended for adults making professional headshots. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Where data lives

Our server runs in the United States. Finished headshots are stored with Cloudflare R2. Google processes photos in its own regions under its terms.
